Name the bytes behind the finding
An audit comment such as “canonical checked” leaves a reviewer to reconstruct which page was inspected. The Suede demonstration report names the evidence URL, capture method, recording time and SHA-256 of the HTML. These details let another operator connect a source check to a concrete artifact.
The saved report recorded at 23:38:15.393 UTC on 21 October 2026 identifies committed HTML as its capture method. Its eight checks concern that source page. A deployed response can differ, which is why the capture method, recording date and source revision belong beside the result.
Choose the capture mode deliberately
The runner’s default mode inspects the committed evidence-page source. Add --live to fetch the current page and compare its complete response with the checkout. Inspect run.mjs before running so the comparison and error behavior are clear.
Use a checkout matching the revision you intend to verify. If production has moved forward, a mismatch can be a correct observation. Compare the current source and deployment revision before assigning the difference to a broken release.

A repeatable receipt needs the intended URL, the capture method, a timestamp and a content hash. Retain the captured artifact through your own audit process so the hash has bytes to identify. A hash is a comparison aid; a reader still needs the page or source to inspect the content.
In the saved result, audit.capture distinguishes the response comparison from a local-only check. The audit.checks array retains each named decision. Keep those fields separate so a report can explain both how the input was obtained and what the checker found.
- URL: the address whose response you intended to inspect.
- Method: local source or complete HTTP response comparison.
- Date: the time attached to the recording.
- Hash: the SHA-256 of the exact inspected HTML.
Use a mismatch to narrow the investigation
Read the complete comparison before writing a release claim. A successful build identifies a generated artifact; a deployed response identifies what a reader receives. If the comparison fails, inspect redirect behavior, host, deployment revision and response bytes. Then repeat the same capture after resolving the cause.
Keep search and business measurements as separate observations in the report. Page-byte equality does not supply impressions, indexed status or inquiries. Those fields need dated records from the relevant platform. This structure lets the next person add those measurements without changing what the source audit established.
Prepare a receipt a teammate can use
Attach the JSON result to the repair review and link the code revision. Name the input and observed behavior in one sentence: committed HTML passed the listed checks on the recorded date. For a successful live comparison, record that the complete response matched the checkout.
