What is full-stack GEO?

The definition, the four layers, what an engagement covers and refuses, who the work is for, and the answer to the name collision.

Full-stack GEO is generative engine optimization run end to end: measuring what ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google's AI results say about a company, repairing the source pages and entity records those answers are assembled from, earning the press and third-party mentions those engines cite, and publishing dated receipts. Full-stack GEO changes the answer.

The four layers of full-stack GEO: measure, repair, press, receipts

Four layers, run as one chain by the same hands. What gets measured is repaired by the people who measured it.

1. Measure

Dated captures of what ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI results answer about a company and its category, repeated across engines and across days. The prompts are the ones buyers type: a described problem, not a brand name. One answer, on one day, from one engine is an anecdote. The measurement design, with its sampling, scoring and limits, is published at Generative Engine Optimization: A Working Method.

2. Repair

An AI answer is assembled from documents. The repair work runs in order of leverage: crawler access first, then entity clarity, then the third-party pages engines cite, then machine-readable structure and checkable claims on your own pages. Repairing a source means reaching the repo or the CMS and shipping to production. GEO implementation lists the six questions to put in a statement of work.

3. Press

Engines quote records other people wrote: coverage, entity graphs, knowledge panels, third-party write-ups, comparison pages. This layer is the founder story, the newsroom, the pitch material and the outreach behind them, run for machines as much as for readers.

4. Receipts

Dated captures with the prompt and the engine recorded, kept where a buyer can open them. The record behind Suede SEO sits on the receipts page.

Full-stack GEO vs. AI visibility tracking tools

A tracking tool answers one question: what did the engines say? That is a real question, and a good tracker answers it faster than a person will. A score is a reading. Rewriting the third-party page an engine quotes, correcting the entity record it resolves you against, earning the coverage it cites, shipping a fix to production: all of that is a separate job.

Full-stack GEO is the rest of the chain attached to that reading. It shows up when the number moves the wrong way and the question becomes "which document caused that, and who is going to change it".

A tracker sold as measurement is doing what it says. Sold as visibility, it describes the answer and leaves it where it was.

What a full-stack GEO engagement includes, and what it doesn't

The boundary, in plain words.

The record behind it

Dated captures and the sources sit on the receipts page.

Who full-stack GEO is for: founders, marketing teams, and creator brands

Not company size. Whether buyers in the category ask an assistant before they ask a person, and whether being described wrongly there costs something.

Founders

A founder-led company is often one entity record away from being described correctly, and one stale third-party page away from being described badly. The founder is usually the strongest press asset on hand, and the one nobody has pitched.

Marketing teams

An in-house team usually owns the site and the content calendar, not the third-party sources, and reports against rankings and sessions. An answer that left the company out shows up in neither. What is missing is the measurement surface, and the mandate to repair sources the team does not own.

Creator brands

Artists, authors, studios and independent labels get described by machines without being asked. The recurring failures are attribution and identity: work credited to the wrong person, a name collapsed into a better-known one, catalogue and rights read off an out-of-date page. That is entity and provenance work more than marketing.

Not for: a number to put in a board deck with nothing changed underneath it, or a category whose buyers do not use assistants yet. Ask an engine what it recommends in yours and read what comes back. If your name is there and described correctly, you do not need this yet.

Where full-stack GEO sits in the wider operations work

Full-stack GEO is one line of work at Suede Labs AI, not the whole practice. Another line is operations: managed AI agents that sit inside the parts of a business that repeat: call review, lead qualification, script and rebuttal consistency across a sales team, PR rebuilds, and the digital operations around them. Automation lands where a step repeats and a guardrail can hold it, with a tracked KPI on each lane.

Those agents are built and operated in Suede Agent Studio, and clients watch them run in real time without having to adjust or touch anything. Their job is watching; Suede runs the rest.

Full-stack GEO FAQ

Is full-stack GEO just SEO with a new name?

No, and it is not a replacement for SEO either. Classic SEO competes for a position in a ranked list of links. Generative engine optimization competes for inclusion in the short answer an engine writes, which behaves as a threshold rather than a curve: a source is either part of the synthesis or it is not. Full-stack GEO names the wider chain around that work (measurement, source repair, press, receipts) with classic SEO kept underneath. The split is set out at What is GEO? and compared point by point in GEO vs SEO.

Can a company run full-stack GEO in-house?

Yes, and the method is published free so that it can be. What in-house teams tend to run out of is repetition and access: the same prompts run across engines on a schedule, and somebody who can reach the repo, the entity records and the third-party sources and ship. A team with both can run this without hiring anyone, starting from the checklist.

What proof should a full-stack GEO provider publish?

Dated captures with the prompt and the engine recorded, the fixes that shipped with their production URLs, and the provider's own entity record and coverage. The record for this practice is at the receipts page.
