AI Workflow Assessment
Choose the next automation from the work your team actually does. Suede AI maps recurring processes, examines the bottlenecks and defines a bounded pilot with clear inputs, ownership and acceptance criteria.
What your team receives
- Current-state workflow mapA practical account of the task, its triggers, people, systems and completion conditions.
- Automation suitability assessmentAn explanation of the opportunities, unresolved prerequisites and decisions that remain with a person.
- Prioritized pilot recommendationA proposed first scope with expected outputs, an operating owner and a plan to evaluate the work.
A defined scope, an accountable owner and a useful handover.
Map the process before choosing a tool
We follow a representative task from its trigger through the people and systems that handle it. The map records where information enters, where someone makes a judgment and what counts as a completed result. The process owner explains the exceptions that a diagram alone would miss.
Useful inputs include sample work items, current instructions and the reports people rely on. We ask where work waits, where someone repeats an entry and where a handoff loses context. Those observations give the assessment a specific operational starting point.
Check whether the work is ready to automate
An automation opportunity needs more than repetition. We examine whether inputs are available, rules are clear and the output can be checked. A frequently repeated task with an undefined decision may need clearer ownership before its execution changes.
The assessment also identifies decisions that need a person, permissions that require approval and a recovery path for missing data or failed connections. Those controls become part of the proposed workflow. They help the team choose a pilot it can operate and evaluate with confidence.
Give the first pilot a useful finish line
The prioritized recommendation explains which workflow to start with and why. It describes the necessary inputs, affected systems, responsible owner and the evidence that would show the pilot is working. Dependencies and unresolved questions are recorded alongside the recommendation.
We separate the assessment deliverable from implementation. Your team receives a process map and an actionable scope it can use to decide the next step. If the chosen work needs an agent, a system connection or broader operational repair, the corresponding implementation engagement can build from that specification.
How the work is delivered
- Observe the recurring work Walk through real examples with the people doing the task and record the current systems, handoffs and exceptions.
- Assess suitability Review frequency, friction, data readiness, judgment requirements and the ability to inspect the outcome.
- Prioritize a pilot Recommend a bounded starting point with ownership, dependencies and acceptance criteria the team can use to make a decision.
Example: assessing a weekly reporting task
Illustrative example
An operations manager combines several exports into the same weekly report. The assessment maps the source files, calculation rules and recipients, then checks what happens when an export is missing. The proposed pilot defines one report, its owner and a comparison against a manually checked sample.
Questions about AI Workflow Assessment
How do you decide what should not be automated?
We examine whether the rules, inputs and acceptance criteria are clear enough to support the proposed action. Decisions that require accountable human judgment stay with a named person. The recommendation can also identify a process or data repair that should happen first.
Does the assessment include an agent build?
The assessment delivers the workflow map, suitability findings and pilot recommendation. Building an agent or implementing the chosen automation is a separate scope, using those findings to define the work and its acceptance checks.
Choose an automation worth building
Bring one recurring task, examples of its inputs and the person who owns the result. Suede AI will map a practical path from today’s process to a testable pilot.
